Shaun the Sheep: Farmageddon Trailer (Aardman Animations / Lionsgate )

I went to see Shaun the Sheep: Farmageddon Last night, I must admit that I was going into this movie being a huge Wallace and Gromit fan. I didn’t know whether it would live up to the same standard as wallace and gromit. Boy was I wrong.

The first think that strikes you about this movie is that not 1 character really speaks. I thought in the beginning this was going to be a bit off putting and wondered how they would be able to hold my attention for 90 minutes. You don’t miss it at all.

After 5 minutes I was sitting there chuckling away like a 4 year old. It brought me back to the days when we used to get up on a saturday morning get a bowl of cornflakes and watch the funnies in front of the tv.

Shaun the Sheep: Farmageddon is mainly aimed at the young demographic but don’t let this put you off. In this day and age when there isn’t that many good comedies out in the cinema you have to get your laughs from somewhere. Shaun the sheep is definitely the perfect movie if you want a break from real life and get lost in a show of Plasticine goodness for an hour and a half.

Shaun is a sheep that gets up to no end of mischieve and when he finds an alien in the barn of the farm he lives on this just sets up the adventure for both of them. We find out that the alien accidentally stole his parents space ship and landed on earth.

He is trying to get the spaceship working and get back to his home planet and his family. Shaun Decides to help the alien. They eventually get to their spaceship only to have the government toe the ship away.

Once the ship is in a “warehouse” disguised as a car wash they need the key to start the spaceship. The key is guarded by the head security woman, who we later find out had a close encounter with the aliens parents when she was a child.

Shaun and the alien eventually get the key to the spaceship after a few failed attempts and then get the spaceship into outer space. They look like they are going to make it to the aliens home planet, however Shaun messes things up as he wants pizza.

I won’t spoil the whole movie for all of you that haven’t seen it yet. If you want to go see the movie it is highly recommended. Forget that it is an animated film and go and enjoy 90 minutes of laughs. This movie is for both kids and parents a like.

We give this Movie 4.5 out of 5 stars.
